On Celestra’s Wings is a romantic, historical fiction novel. Centered in the Civil War era, it tells the story of two families that are divided by cultural conflicts. The hero discovers the girl of his dreams. She is the daughter of an opulent plantation owner. However, the two lovers are torn apart by a raging Civil War. The story depicts the hero’s struggle to overcome all obstacles in order to find the woman he truly loves. He is emboldened in his quest by Celestra, the angelic presence who has repeatedly appeared to comfort him.
On Celestra’s Wings has lots of adventure and torrid romance. The story also brings out the character of two strong women. They both struggle desperately to keep their heritage alive. The women fight for the men that they love and stop at nothing in order to save the land of their fathers. On Celestra’s Wings describes life in the antebellum south and tells the story of how both sides thought that they were fighting for a just cause. It also describes the plight of the African slave during this sorrowful time in American history.
