This house is located at 1516 State Street, in Alton, Illinois. Captain William Post, a riverboat captain and mayor of Alton, built the house in 1838. The stone house has Doric columns and cast iron railings. It is an example of Parthenon Greek Revival architecture. Painted in acrylic on a 20 by 24 canvas.
