According to folklore, the Piasa Bird was said to have attacked Native American people living along the bluffs that are now part of Alton, Illinois. This painting shows the Piasa Bird ready to attack. The brave is there with bow and arrow in order to save the maiden. Painted in acrylic on an 18 by 24 canvas.
